Creative platform 99designs is having some fun with the 100th anniversary of the founding of the Bauhaus School. Founded in 1919 by Walter Gropius, the movement aimed to bridge the gap between art and industry, introducing architecture and geometry into the fine art field with a focus on mass production and economics.
The impact was, and still is, felt by a number of industries, not the least of which is watches. Nomos leads the modern brands defining the Bauhaus style, but others have dabbled in the form-follows-function ethos as well.
