If you didn’t hear Nick Jonas and Priyanka Chopra got married last weekend in an elaborate, over-the-top ceremony in India. But, this isn’t People Magazine, so we’re not here to tell you about two beautiful people getting married. We’re here to talk about something much more important: the watches they were wearing. Lucky for us, People has posted extensive photo albums of the couples’ entire weekend, and the happy couple has also taken to Instagram to showcase their love, so we can take some educated guesses as to what was on their wrists.

In People’s pre-wedding album, we saw Jonas wearing a watch in a few photos, but we couldn’t quite make it out. Something with a moon phase that looked to be off center, but we couldn’t distinguish beyond that. A Grand Lange 1 Moonphase? Or even a Glashutte Original Moonphase? Both of these seemed like pretty deep cuts for a guy with a documented affection for more mainstream brands like Rolex and G Shock.

We were left wondering what adorned Nick’s wrist the moment he was to be betrothed, until he posted this on his Instagram a day later, and then it became widely reported that Chopard was involved with providing the jewelry for the wedding, with Chopra thanking the luxury brand for such furnishings.
It becomes clear that Jonas is wearing a pink or rose gold Chopard L.U.C. Lunar One Grande Date. The most current models of the L.U.C. Big Date, available on its website, have the moon phase centered over the 6 o’clock position, Jonas’ watch isn’t a new timepiece (to the general market at least). the Lunar Big Date collection was launched in 2009, so it’s hard to pinpoint the exact reference Jonas has, but rest assured original MSRP was somewhere in the neighborhood of $30,000.
It’s a 42mm watch that sits 11mm high: not large by today’s standards, but certainly not a watch that shies away from attention either. But hey, with a cake like the one in that photo, is anyone really shying away from attention here?
